EARL BIGELOW

LEAD GUITAR, PIANO, VOCALS

A seasoned musician, Earl Bigelow first picked up a guitar when he was eleven. At fifteen, he was playing grange halls in the small towns of Maine. After going to college in Boston and a short stint playing music in NYC, he returned to Richmond, Maine, to hit the country circuit with college friend Charlie Smith. Together they formed the Hayward Smith Band, which enjoyed much popularity in and around New England. In the 90s Earl formed the Holliday Road Band based in Bath and was popular up and down the coast of Maine. Throughout his career, Earl has always maintained recording facilities and as the current owner and operator of “Watersong Music” in Bowdoinham, he continues to teach and record as well as performing regularly with Band Cilantro and The Duo with Margot Frost.


MARGOT FROST

RHYTHM GUITAR, LEAD VOCALS

Margot is a singer/songwriter who has been performing since the late 70s, appearing primarily in Boston and the surrounding areas. Having dropped out of the music scene for several years to pursue other interests, she moved to Maine in 2004 and reignited her career. As a songwriter and acoustic guitarist, Margot had been writing, recording, performing in a variety of venues with many other local musicians up until 2011 when she and Earl Bigelow formed Band Cilantro. Together, they perform regularly as a duo as well as with the band. Their material includes original songs by Margot and Earl well as covers by such artists as Lake Street Dive, Bozz Scaggs, Madeleine Peyroux, Mark Knopfler, and Eric Clapton. Their wide range of music also includes timeless classics such as “Misty” and “The look of Love”. Margot & Earl released their new CD COLLATERAL DAMAGE in June 2021

 

AIDEN FIORI

BASS

Aiden Fiori started playing bass freshman year of high school. With pandemic being in full swing it have him a unique opportunity to dedicate a lot of time to the Instrument. Within months he was playing at Watersong studio and would go on to be part of the jazz program at the high school. He currently is studying music at the University of Maine and plays in a couple local bands plus university ensembles. Aiden also enjoys playing piano and has created quite a of original music over the years.


VICKY WILLIAMS

BACK UP VOCALS, FLUTE

"Vicky Williams performs backup vocals and flute with Cilantro. She’s a lifelong musician and an active K-12 music teacher, leading general music classes, choir, and musical theatre with her students. Vicky’s classical background shapes both her teaching and her contributions to the band. Outside of shows and school, she enjoys crocheting, journaling, and writing musical arrangements.”


HAL HAGEY

SAX

Hal began his music career in the late 60’s in Baltimore MD. He worked with quite a few terrific club bands, i.e., the Upsetters which was one of Otis reddings back up road bands. He played with the original Both Words: one of Battimore’s best groups. He also spent three years in the United States Army’s Show Mobile Jazz bigband playing concerts at East Coast Colleges for recruiting. He played the tenor saxophone solo chair. After the army he was on the road until the late 80’s. Upon moving to Maine he was able to play in an excellent blues band quintet opening for BB King at the Augusta Civic Center.


GAVIN BURBANK

DRUMS

Gavin is an avid collector of musical instruments who loves to play music with others. He is not only a drummer but also plays guitar and piano. Gavin enjoys recording and producing music of others as well as himself. 


RYAN SWEET

KEYBOARDS

Ryan Sweet’s musical path began early, starting drums at age three and piano at six. By eight, Ryan was composing solo piano pieces and earned top awards at the Bagaduce Young Composers Competition from 2017 to 2020. In high school, he broadened his skills by writing original works for the Midcoast Wind Ensemble and the Mt. Ararat High School Concert Band. His wind band suite Phenomena was showcased at the 2025 NAfME Young Composers Showcase in Hartford, CT. He also plays piano in Band Cilantro, led by Earl Bigelow, performing fun music throughout Maine. Currently, Ryan is a freshman at the University of New Hampshire, studying Analytics and Sustainability while actively participating in the university’s musical ensembles.
